Low Budget Films
What’s funnier is these films have no budget and are very watch able and you watch some crappy film with a massive budget and you find yourself turning over after 2 minutes.
Recommended Low budget Films
Evil Dead
Sam Raimi first filmed a short to show to the general public asking for funding to begin shooting his film, he raised $90,000 an started shooting his low budget film Evil Dead with his student friends. Films he’s directed: Quick and the Dead, Spider man 1 and 2.
El Mariachi
I was shocked about how cheap Robert Rodriquez made the film for $5,000 and now he’s a massive player in Hollywood.
Dark Star
John Carpenter directed this film, sets where built in his kitchen and garage, the alien in the film is a beach ball. John Carpenter went on to direct Escape from LA, The thing.
Dan O'Bannon stared in the film and went on to write Alien.
Clerks
The 13th sign
Shot for £5,000 but ended up costing £25,000. Made it in to Blockbusters generating over 30,000 rentals and selling 2000 dvds.
Razor Blade Smile
Jake West shot this Vampire film on super 16mm in 23 days, for £16,000 to shoot and a further £20,000 to complete.
From Dusk Till Dawn
This isn’t a cheap movie but the special edition is packed with hours and hours of extras about all the crew and cast, very helpful DVD.
Evil Dead and all the others it was pretty much the same scenario students with some money set out and make a film.
FILM PROFITS
