If you don’t know anything about writing scripts you come to a good place to start. Ill teach you everything I know which should help you even if you know anything but one thing if could still help. This is couple pages of RISING EVIL script below, when writing a script:
· Font size should be 12
· Font style should always be Courier New
· Letter colour to be black
Most agents want an outline of the story you would find that on the back of the DVD back and a primary letter about you asking why you have write your script and what you wanted to accomplish. Storylines and Primary letters are only needed if you’re sending to a agent.
· Character names and places should be bold and in capitals.
· Character names to be centre aligned, other text to be left aligned.
· Printed on A4 white paper
Where ever the character is before he talks you should have a bracket of where he is i.e. (day, car, hotel, outside the cabin etc). A script book can help you big time even if its a script book of a film.
How many pages should I write?
Will its known that 1 page equals 1 minute of film, so for a 90 minute film you need 90 pages of script. Although evil dead is only 18 so its depends how you film. They say you need over 100 to start a film with. The From Dusk Till Dawn script book is 110 A5 pages 20 of which are pictures so it all depends.
Writers block aarrhhh ideas
Well you wrote 30 pages an now your stuck, I suggest what you do is watch films about the subject your writing about because at the end of the day everything is copied and nothings new. Read books and search the web for ideas and jot them down make a list of interesting stuff that’s how Quentin Tarantino did Kill Bill he watch three films a day an took notes. Also dreams give you ideas thats how James Cameron thought of The Terminator.
