I have written a short script for a zombie film. I will begin shooting this summer (Aug) 2005. Now I have never used a pro-grade camera before, and I was gonna pick up a new GL2 but the prices were outrageous. I picked up a low use GL1 from an older guy in WI. He seemed to not know what the camera could do and used it once then packed it away for 5 years. When it arrived ... all the accessories were still in the original wrap and sealed from the factory. So I know I got a good deal. I picked up 5 lenses .45X Wide Angle .50X Wide Angle .70X Wide Angel (Canon WD-58) 2x Telephoto 3x Telephoto I figured those should be enough to get me the shots I need. I may grab a .65x Wideangle just so i have some different wide shot depths. No my questions is.... How the hell do I achieve that film look with this camera. I have done some test shots and captured the video to my home PC, no matter what I do it has that crappy surreal Camcorder look. I have set the camera to frame mode... but I mean how do I dull down the color a bit on this thing. The manual doesn't tell you nothing, and I must have visited over 50 different sites and no one can answer the question with getting into 50 billion technical comments. Anyway... any help would be appreciated. Dj

can you not grade it in post? Theres software called Magic Bullet which is ment to help for this. Also I've heard a television lense will dramatically impove quiality, soft lighting helps too. I wouldnt do anything to the frame rate leave all tht for post. post pics when you filming hope it goes well. if i can help let me know, have you got a budget? or are they dawn of the dead zombies?

Here is the teaser www.playingwithdeadthings.com/DEADLANDS.htmlThe budget is $1,500.00 $700 of which is make-up. However since most of the zombies will be far away, most people won't need make-up. only key upclose zombies will be given make-up.
