We've all heard that saying "If it's too good to be true, then it probably is" in regards to "Special Offers" and deals and the like.

"Consumers buy brands, not products."
How true is this for you? We all know about the blind taste tests that people prefer Coke to Pepsi, yet which of them sells better? The better product or the better brand? Do you go out of your way to buy particular brands? Have you a particular 'loyalty' to any particular company? Are you one of those saddos with a logo tattoo?
Forgive the Hyperianesqueness of my post.

As someone living in the Republic of Ireland I always find it strange that the UK still exists. I mean, as far as I can figure out the Welsh hate the English. The English dont seem to like the welsh. As for the scots and the english? Come on, dont even go there. And, when it comes to Northern Ireland, the scots, welsh and english seem to be united in their disdain for the place.
The only two who seem to get along are the Irish and the English and we left the UK years ago. (OK we do like to see the english football team being beaten ). And this is despite 800 years of english occupation and all the fairly IRA recent bombings in Britain. What goes?
Can you explain it to me? Also how come the Royal Family is still in power when all Iread here is negative about them. And that seems to be shared equally between English, Welsh and Scots!

We hear this term from time to time. Usually it is used when a female says an insult to her counterpart. The response is "You have thingy envy."
What does this mean exactly? Is it envy of the actual organ or envy of the differences allowed men and women in society?
For example, the old way of thinking regarding sexual activity still exists. A man with several partners is not as quickly frowned upon or frowned upon as much as a woman with the same number. When women complain, I've heard the response be... You have thingy envy.
Is this accurate? I would consider it a want to have the same rights in social contexts as men. Certainly it would be great to be the opposite sex for a day. Quite frankly, some of the first things I would do is pee, wank and then see if I could have sex. It would be interesting and useful to experience those things from the other point of view.
It would also be interesting to walk around as a man and not have this odd feeling... most females reading this will know what I mean... of needing to be watchful. You know the one, when you walk along on a quiet street later in the evening... places not well lit... it is something wired into most women to pay attention to what is going on around you.
So, is this thingy envy? I enjoy most things about being female. Being girly, feeling completely mushy and not being concerned to show it. Thinking about that last bit, maybe men should have girl thingy envy. Society does place on them an expectation to be less emotional.
Thoughts?

The british press have total freedom now to say and do whatever they like and its fantastic for the public to be able to know what is going on. Some governments around the world restrict their press to such an extent that their people must think they are living in a dictatorial society.
We, as british people must be proud that we live in such a society. Anyone can stand up and shout anything from the rooftops without fear of being arrested. I am not saying that Britain hasn't got problems, we sure have (look at our health system, crime and immigration for starters) but I am saying that we aint got it all bad.
What do u reckon? Sometimes I hear so much negative talk about our country; are failing out love with Britain or are we just picking on minor issues? Its time Patriotism was brought back to Britain. We want to feel proud to be british again - they have even curbed British cinema, thanks to Gordon Brown's crazy idea to cover the tax loophole into the investment of films.
What do you think? Do you feel patriotic about your country? Are you proud of your consitution? Are you safe walking down the street at 4 in the morning without fear of being mugged or murdered?

ID Cards, why are they bad?
I don't want this to turn into a campaign for certain parties, I'd just like a reason why people think that ID cards could be a bad thing. Personally I think a universally accepted ID for everyone would be great, names, DOB and Photo on the card with address etc locked away in the strip and it has the potential to hold a hell of a lot of useful information, I don't know the capacity of a magnetic strip but there got be be space for useful stuff like medical conditions, blood type, convictions that would be available if scanned by the right people.
I'm willing to listen to anyone with a valid point, but not to anyone who just want to complain
