Any small-time filmaker is insane if they don't storyboard before production.
The first thing I hear from guys is the old "I don't know how to draw". Steven Spielberg can't draw either and when I visited the J-Park set I talked to the board artist...and there were these post-its with little stick men on it. Steven boarded the next weeks shots using stick men. Now the board artist made them look pretty, but you could have shot the thing with the stick men. The purpose of boarding is to do a pre-edit in your head...it WILL save you time and make a clearer, better flow of action.
I draw a 2 inch by three inch rectangles on a piece of paper and photocopy it 9 times, pasting three rows of 3 panels on one 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper. YOu can number the scenes to make a shot list. Cut n paste panels if you make changes.
Draw stickmen (or draw better if you are a master artist like me) and try to consolidate shots. You don't have to board obvious sequences if you want, but I tend to over board everything, even repeat set-ups. I've even video-taped my boards with me doing all of the dialogue to see how long my short would be. It works.
Before I board, I do thumbnails. That's when I print out my script and draw little one inch squares in the boarders right next to the scene changes and dialogue. I do little stick men and blow down basic lighting. These thumbnails might be enough for you as storyboards or you can do the big version above if you need other crew members to look at them.
When I direct a set and we have boards I look like I know what I'm doing. I know exactly where the camera should be and I always know what shot I'm working on.
Check out Evil Dead 2 behind the scene Sam Raimis drawing OMG thats all ill say. But then again he did spider man lol.
Be a man...storyboard.

Hip Games Press Release HIP GAMES(TM) SIGNS TOM SAVINI FOR GEORGE A. ROMERO'S "CITY OF THE DEAD" Horror Icon to Provide Likeness and Voice-Over in George A. Romero's Survival Zombie Shooter Toronto, CANADA – May 11, 2005 - Hip Games(TM) today announced that they have signed horror icon Tom Savini to appear in the previously unnamed "City of the Dead" video game. Developed by Kuju Entertainment and set in the George A. Romero universe, "City of the Dead" will be released on the PlayStation(R)2 computer entertainment system, the Xbox(R) video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PC CD-ROM in spring 2006. Tom Savini, star of "From Dusk Till Dawn" and a noted horror makeup artist, is cast in a pivotal role in "City of the Dead." Savini will bring his instantly recognizable voice and likeness to William "Red" McLean, a battle-worn ex-law enforcement officer who is a survivor to the core. Savini's character will initially provide fire support in the game then be playable, allowing gamers to experience the game through the eyes of "Red." "We are incredibly pleased that Mr. Savini has agreed to lend his talent to our upcoming release, 'City of the Dead,'" said Arindra Singh, President & Chief Executive Officer of Hip Interactive Corp. "His legendary make-up artistry and theatrical roles have securely embedded him in the Romero Universe. We are honored to have him on board!" "I feel like an assassin. I load up my car with my essentials and go off to strange places and kill people, and things…in movies," said Tom Savini from his Pittsburgh home. "It makes sense for me now to do it in a new strange place....a video game. My first video game and a whole new arena to fulfill my reputation, my legend, as the king of splatter in the bloodiest gore fest in gaming… 'City of the Dead.'" "City of the Dead" begins as four desperate survivors escape a ravaged zombie infested city by helicopter. After making it to the remote island of Isla Mortal, an accident destroys their only means of escape. Unbeknown to them the island is home to a top secret military installation, overrun by the walking dead. Armed with an arsenal of traditional and futuristic weaponry, players must battle the living dead from dusk 'till dawn in series of abandoned locales. With split-screen co-op missions, party mode, and four-player online feature, "City of the Dead" also promises a range of multiplayer features that allow gamers to play as human or zombie. Hip will unveil the first build of "City of the Dead" featuring William "Red" McLean behind closed doors next week during E3. Hip Interactive is located in the Concourse Hall at booth 5013.

i remember going down to the arcades on a saturday and spending a pound, but these days are well long gone.
The ones i always use to be on Golden Axe Pang Mortal Kombat
I Remember the first 4 player game i saw was Teenage ninja Turtles I was wooow 4 players cool, never got anywhere good on it though.
One of my all time favs only played it once or twice was i think SWAG that was a 18.
I think there re-releasing all the arcade games onto the new sony plam gamer DS (or is it NS) when it comes out.
And when you got to the end people would gather around and watch its mad to think it and it was quite breef the whole arcade thing come to think of it. Ok you have arcades still now but they have the same boring old games and no ones in there. But when ever I see Japan other there looks like it still rocks.

i go around to my mates to watch someone else who owns the game to complete the missions or liences. Id say im ok at it. As i can drive it just feels like theres no movement speed whys, but in other car games like need for speed or GTA it feels faster also i think the pricing is poor, maybe the prices are realistic for rally but then again you start with standard cars i.e. performance chip doesnt cost 1k+ look in max power it costs 300 quid maybe im getting carried away its just i hear about it all the time being realistic maybe for driving or the cars profiles, its werid in away im into fast cars but im not into this game.
what you think?
